A Reflection on the Mosaic: The United Nations Comprehensive Approach for Afghanistan

In February 2025, the United Nations introduced a new initiative for Afghanistan, known as the “Mosaic” or the “Comprehensive Approach for Afghanistan.” While a detailed version of the Mosaic plan with specific next steps has yet to be released, the available information suggests that it is not a fundamentally new approach.
